Back in January of
this year, I had left my home church as the
Senior Pastor resigned. Watching TV one Sunday
morning, I saw Pastor Jim Tolle sharing on
Jonah.
It was the most penetrating message on
Jonah
I had ever heard! Then I was invited to
The Church On The
Way for the John Tesch Concert
back in mid-February by a dear friend. There
were fourteen of us who came and we loved the
concert and Dr. Hayford's talk.
GOD
brought to me a sign that
The Church On The
Way was the church
HE
wanted me to become a part of and serve, to the
sound of a GREAT AMEN! A HUGE magnificent dove
with shimmering golden mist right at the top of
the Living
Room! I was filled with
God's Spirit of
love and knew this was the
new church
for me!
In March I was
baptized in the
Holy Spirit
for empowerment and started exploring the
different ministries at our church. I love
missions so I volunteered whenever possible in
the World
Team office. I thoroughly
enjoyed the Wednesday night summer services and
reading, "Doing What Jesus Did." I have
become a member of
The Church On The
Way and my daughter and I were
deeply touched by the, "HUG
IN," at our common meal dinner!
Very unexpectedly
I was laid off from work, in a profession I have
been in for thirty-four years. I knew I had to
trust
GOD to direct my paths and I
started answering employment ads and sent
e-mails on line daily. I had heard so many
wonderful things about
Cleansing Stream
that I made a commitment to go. I have loved
every minute of it, and at my first
Community Group,
I met a beautiful sister who's spirit and love
for our
Lord was evident.
Unbeknownst to me, she had cancer. We have
become dear friends and whenever possible I have
tried to help her with transportation and other
mundane things that are difficult when you are
in pain. She shared with me about her dear
friend, Pastor Ross Bradder who's
President of Los
Angeles Community Builders, a
Ministry
at
The Church on The
Way.
Within a few days,
Pastor Bradder had a copy of my resume and had
already electronically sent it to other
community leaders and he scheduled me a personal
appointment with him. WOW! I was impressed with
the speed of things. Pastor Bradder made a
telephone call in his office and within an hour,
I was at a job interview with a new industry!
PRAISE
GOD! I had so wanted to
start something new and the
HOLY SPIRIT
was moving fast! I was soon hired and have now
started my new position. I am most grateful for
Pastor Bradder's expertise and prayerful
attention. And I am very impressed with our
church to have a
Ministry
of this high caliber helping and serving our
church community, at
The Church On The
Way.
My new life in a
"corporate setting" is very different from my
previous "healthcare setting." Pastor Bradder
has even given me sound prayerful advise so that
I do not fall short of the girl,
GOD
is preparing me to be.
It seems that our
world and our personal lives sometimes are
challenged with hurricanes and disasters, but I
have learned to always keep my focus on
GOD
and HE
will make our paths straight.
The Church On The
Way is truly a beacon of
GOD'S
Light and Love and I feel honored to be a part
of it!
"By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one to another." ~
John 13: 35
